Time Saving Tips for Eating More Wholefoods
Eating wholefoods and being a busy working parent is hard!
Here’s a list of tips tricks and ideas I’ve picked up along the way to make life a little easier
On a Sunday night I always roast two trays of roast veggies, one to go with the roast dinner and the other to use in a roast vegetable salad the next day for lunch (saves me making lunch).
I chop a third tray but don’t cook them and use them to make a nice vegetable soup the next day.
I tend to always make a vegetarian curry once a week then double so there is an easy pull out meal the following week, when you have a busy night with after school kids activities etc.
I make a big pot of soup once a week, enough for double so that I can take some the other half for lunch one day during the week or freeze the rest.
Often for dinner I will make an extra serving and then somehow reconfigure the dinner into a different meal idea for lunch.
I love to set up breakfast the night before in my pressure cooker, and delay start it so that in the morning so that breakfast is ready to go - great for busy mornings, when your rushing out the door.
I use my pressure cooker to do soups, stews, curries, bolognaise, mashed potatoes, stock - almost anything you can think of, to save me hands on time in the kitchen.
Have an omelette for lunch - its quick and healthy to prepare
